Gurdwara Shri Banota Sahib is located in the village of Ablu in District Bathinda. SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI, upon accepting the request of Bhai Daan Singh Ji, arrived at this place. At that time, Baba Santokh Das Ji was meditating here, and GURU SAHIB had spiritual discussions with him. After brushing his teeth with a twig, GURU SAHIB planted it here, which has now grown into a large tree. Bhai Daan Singh Ji told GURU SAHIB that he wanted to establish a village in the name of his grandfather Bhai Ablu Ji, but the descendants of Baba Mehime were not allowing him to do so. GURU SAHIB, from this location, shot an arrow towards the south and told Bhai Daan Singh Ji, "Wherever this arrow lands, you can establish the village there. No one will stop you." Bhai Daan Singh Ji marked the spot where the arrow landed and founded the village.
