Gurdwara Sri Mithasar Sahib , Shergarh
This sacred site is located in the Ropar district near Kotla Power House, on the Ropar-Anandpur Sahib road. SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI, SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR SAHIB JI , and SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI visited this place and sanctified it with their presence.
SRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI : Nearby this place, there lived a lion. Hearing the plea of the devotees, GURU SAHIB came to this location. He woke up the sleeping lion and hunted it. The devotees requested GURU SAHIB as there was no water source. GURU SAHIB struck the earth with his spear, and sweet water sprang forth. GURU SAHIB often had lunch with the devotees here. He named the place "Mithasar" and "Shergarh." Accompanying GURU SAHIB were Bhai Bidhi Chand Ji, Emperor Jahangir, and Baba Baloo Ji.
SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR SAHIB JI : While on his martyrdom journey to Delhi, GURU SAHIB stayed here. Accompanying GURU SAHIB were Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji, Bhai Shabeg Singh Ji, and Bhai Sabhas Singh Ji. From this location, GURU SAHIB instructed the rest of the Sangat to return.
SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI : GURU SAHIB shot an arrow and a water spring emerged. He then had a well constructed here using bricks brought from the Anandgarh Fort.
