GURDWARA SRI GODAVARISAR SAHIB,
After leaving Sri Ananpur Sahib SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI reached here via Chamkaur Sahib, Machiwara, Alamgir, Dina, Kotkapura etc. GURU SAHIB reached here tied his horse with Beri Tree (Jujube Tree) and rested near small pond. When Sodhi Kaul ji came to know about GURU SAHIB's visit, He came here paid obeisance and had discussions with GURU SAHIB. Later he and his family got baptised here. They presented GURU SAHIB new clothes, GURU SAHIB accepted them and when after changing the clothes GURU SAHIB was about to burn the old clothes, Bhai Kaul Ji requested for old clothes so that they can keep them as gift from GURU SAHIB. GURU SAHIB gave them the old clothes which are still preserved at their residence, in the village.
Secondly when GURU SAHIB was about to burn the blue robe he was wearing, Bhai Maan Singh requested for the part of that clothe. GURU SAHIB torn of the blue robe and gave him, Bhai Maan Singh Ji put it on his turban. From here onwards the tradition of farla started.
