Gurudwara Shri Charan Paduka Sahib, Betma

Gurudwara Shri Charan Paduka Sahib, Betma,

After descending from Mount Abu, SHRI GURU NANAK DEV JI continued spreading the message of Satnam (the True Name) and arrived in Dharanagari. According to ancient stories, Dharanagari was known by the name of King Gopichand. In this region, the Bhil tribe caused great terror and unrest. GURU SAHIB gave them teachings of peace and brotherhood, helping to bring harmony to the area. During his stay, GURU SAHIB also had a baoli (stepwell) dug, which produced very sweet water. This baoli still exists at this holy site today. GURU SAHIB camped here in Kushwah Mohalla.
