GURUDWARA SHRI MANJI SAHIB is Situated in the Ambala City. Its Situated in Old Ambala city. When SHRI GURU TEG BAHADUR SAHIB JI was beheaded in chandani chowk Delhi, no one dared to pick GURU SAHIBS SACRED HEAD and his body. But with wish of Akal purakh, swear storm swept through the city, and under the cover of dark blanket, Bhai Jaita ji managed to escape with GURU SAHIBS SACRED HEAD and Bhai Lakhi Shah cremated GURU SAHIBS Body by setting his house on fire as public funeral would have been dangerous. Bhai Jaita ji stayed here for some time. At this place known as Jaghadri gate used to flow a river named Tangari/Dabgri. Crossing the river, seeing the shade of a bunch of berries, Bhai Jaita Ji removed the basket from his head (in which was the head of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji) and placed it on a high place. There were huts of laborers around this place In which many potters lived Bhai Jaita Ji asked the people about the house of a Gur Sikh. On inquiry it was found that there are some Hindu houses in Kaithmajri. Bhai Jaita Ji reached Tuakal Shah's place in Kathmajri and stayed at Ramdasia house with GURU SAHIB's Sees. Gurdwara Shri Sheesh Ganj Sahib is now situated on the place.
When SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI set foot here while going to Kurukshetra on the occasion of solar eclipse to preach Sikhism, the potters said that sometimes the roar of a lion is heard in this place. On enquiry of Guru Sahib Dhumiya (Gujar) said that some time ago a man came here after crossing the river. He had a basket on his head. He was resting under these trees. After he left we saw traces of blood dripping under the place where the basket was hanging but did not know what was in the basket. After hearing this talk, Guru Sahib said that this place belongs to Ninth Patshah Ji and secret lions guard here and in that basket was the head of SHRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR SAHIB JI . As per the order of SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI , Singh's built a platform here which was on the west side of Jandi. SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI stayed here for 21 days and kirtan started flowing in the morning and evening so the name of this place became Satsangat. Here the poor potter presented a donkey to Guru Sahib with great devotion. Guru Sahib donated a donkey to the young son of a poor Brahmin at the Kurukshetra Eclipse Festival and alleviated his poverty.
