GURDWARA SRI CHAUBARA SAHIB is situated in the Machiwara Sahib town in Ludhiana Distt. The SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI came to this place from GURDWARA SRI CHARAN KANWAL SAHIB. This place belonged to Gulaba & Punjaba who used to supply ration to GURU SAHIB at ANANDPUR SAHIB. On request of these brothers, GURU SAHIB came to there house. MATA HERDEYI, who used to offer a hand made clothing every year to GURU SAHIB at ANANDPUR SAHIB, Now she was not able to offer at SHRI ANADPUR SAHIB the clothing from quite sometime due to her old age. MATA JI offered the clothing and GURU SAHIB blessed MATA JI happy by accepting her offerings. Pathan Gani Khan Nabi Khan also lived in the same city, who used to offer horse to GURU SAHIB at ANANDPUR SAHIB. When they came to know that GURU SAHIB had come to their village, Gani Khan Nabi Khan went and requested SATGURU JI to come to their house and bless them. While following GURU SAHIB, mughal army, also reached Machhiwara. so they requested that if GURU SAHIB can come in a blue dress, then it would be easy for them to serve. A dyer was called upon and GURU SAHIB ordered him to color His clothes. The dyer told GURU SAHIB the clothes are dyed when the matti (A large earthen pot) is fully prepared and it takes 3 days time to get that prepared after putting color in it. GURU SAHIB told that the matti is already prepared, and he was amazed to see the matti was boiling. The dyer got sure that He is a Hermit of GOD & he should ask for something for himself. After coloring the clothes, he presented it in GURU SAHIB's feet, the dyer stood with folded hands in front of GURU SAHIB. GURU SAHIB wanted to pay something in return for coloring the clothes but the dyer refused to take it. GURU SAHIB asked him that what does he want ? The dyer requested that GURU SAHIB i donot have any child, kindly bless me. The second request is that i am unable to earn enough for a living, not able to pay off the debt from money earned by color, Kindly bless me. GURU SAHIB replied that the matti in which you have colored my clothes, you need not add any color into it from now onward think of any color in your heart and dip the clothes, the clothes will be colored with that color. Keep the matti covered and donot tell this secret to anyone. GURUDWARA SRI CHAUBARA SAHIB exists on that place which is around 500 yards from this place. Gani Khan Nabi Khan requested that even they donot have any child, to which GURU SAHIB said that your service has already been accepted & whatever blessings were given are listed in the HUKAMNAMA. That matt (A large earthen pot) still exists at GURDWARA SAHIB for the followers to see.
